Acid Arab

Acid Arab began in Paris in 2012 with Guido Minisky and Hervé Carvalho, both longtime DJs and residents of the club Chez Moune, who fell for Eastern music on a trip to Tunisia with DJ Gilb'R. Their aim is to join music from North Africa, the Middle East, Turkey and beyond with electronic sounds from acid house to techno, using analogue drum machines and bass synths alongside Arabic instruments and vocals. The first Acid Arab Collections EPs came out on Gilb'R's Versatile Records, with contributions from I:Cube, Crackboy and Omar Souleyman. The albums Musique De France, Jdid and Trois followed on Crammed Discs. Their Dekmantel podcast moved at slow, unhurried tempos through a wide map of sounds while staying constantly on the move.
