Adi Toohey

Adi Toohey is a Sydney DJ whose work runs across club sets, a long-running show on FBi Radio, time behind the counter at The Record Store and her own parties with the Rimbombo crew. That all-round involvement in the city's scene took her from Sydney to clubs in New York, Berlin and London. Her sound is accessible but carefully chosen, with emotive house at its root. Her Dekmantel podcast, recorded in 2020, showed that clearly: it opens with smooth, warm vocal grooves before a distinct nineties flavour takes over, bringing in breakbeats, progressive house and big rave chords, all tightly mixed into a bold, hands-in-the-air set built for the start of a party.
