Adrian Sherwood/African Head Charge

Adrian Sherwood founded On-U Sound in 1979 and built a production style that applies dub effects and dub mixing to reggae, post-punk, industrial and dance music. He has worked with Prince Far I, Lee Scratch Perry, Mikey Dread, Mark Stewart, Tackhead and Dub Syndicate, and remixed Depeche Mode, Primal Scream, Nine Inch Nails and Einstürzende Neubauten. African Head Charge, the psychedelic dub ensemble he co-founded with master percussionist Bonjo Iyabinghi Noah, grew from Brian Eno's idea of a psychedelic Africa and released My Life In A Hole In The Ground on On-U in 1981. Its live line-up fuses djembes, guitars, drums, keys and vocals with heavy sampling. A Trip To Bolgatanga, the group's first album in twelve years, came out on On-U Sound, alongside a Dekmantel Podcast mix.
