An-i

An-i is the musical alias of Doug Lee, a Korean American producer and DJ based in Berlin who has been DJing and making records for two decades under various names and collaborations. The project found its home on the New York label Cititrax, with the Kino-i and Gutz releases in 2014 and 2015 and, after a long gap, the Rabble EP in 2023: crude, menacing machine rhythms, a stripped-down dub and a spaced-out psychedelic journey, sleeved with his own ink brush painting. Further records followed on L.I.E.S. and Cav Empt, and his tracks turned up in mixes for RA and FACT. He played a live set at Dekmantel Festival 2018.
