Andrew Weatherall

Andrew Weatherall was born in Windsor in 1963 and came through London's acid house years, playing Danny Rampling's Shoom and co-founding the Boy's Own fanzine and label with Terry Farley, Cymon Eckel and Steve Mayes. His remixes for Happy Mondays, New Order, Saint Etienne and My Bloody Valentine, and his production of Primal Scream's Screamadelica, winner of the first Mercury Music Prize in 1992, made his name. He went on to form The Sabres of Paradise, then Two Lone Swordsmen with Keith Tenniswood on Warp, and ran the Rotters Golf Club label, home to his solo albums A Pox on the Pioneers and Convenanza. He hosted Music's Not For Everyone on NTS, played Dekmantel Festival in 2019 and died in February 2020.
