Basic Soul Unit

Stuart Li produces and DJs as Basic Soul Unit from Toronto. His career runs back more than a decade through Mule Electronic, Crème Organization, Dolly, Nonplus and Ostgut Ton, and Still Music released his debut album Motional Response. His second album Under The Same Sky came out on Dekmantel: ten house tracks that update Detroit and Chicago motifs with offset, grubby broken drums and melodies carrying an industrial edge, raw but always soulful. He recorded RA.489 for Resident Advisor's podcast series and is regarded by peers as an equally capable hand on the decks and in the studio.
