Benedikt Frey

Benedikt Frey has been on a journey of musical exploration for more than fifteen years. He has made everything from deepest house to bottomless dub, UK jungle to edits of Notorious BIG. Those early forays came on labels like Nous'klaer Audio and Hivern Discs, but in the years since the German has looked more to industrial and post-punk for inspiration. His Fastlane album on ESP Institute blended those influences with his own take on techno and stands as his most accomplished and singular work. He also runs the Lopasura label. His sets play out like mind movies in several chapters, some heady and deep, some direct and unsettling, moving through electro, wave, techno and serious bass weight with great control.
