Black Zone Myth Chant

Black Zone Myth Chant is the live project of the French multi-instrumentalist Maxime Primault, also known for High Wolf, Black Zone Magick Chant, Enfer Boreal and Annapurna Illusion. The idea was first described as Sun Ra revisited by DJ Screw: loops, percussion, fuzzy keyboards and sunken melodies build a ritual space where psych drone, Afrofuturism, slowed hip hop, dub bass lines, spiritual ambience, hypnotic voices and industrial texture overlap. His records have appeared on Editions Gravats, Shelter Press, Not Not Fun, Leaving Records, Winged Sun and Hospital Productions, and he has recorded a mix for The Wire. On stage he has played Unsound, CTM, Villette Sonique, SXSW and Fusion, and he played Dekmantel Festival with the same syncopated, cosmic set.
