Cardinal & Nun is the project of Marseille's Loïc Bodjollé, who started out making classic Chicago house as Donarra before turning to the opposite end of the spectrum. Where Donarra dealt in dreamy grooves, Cardinal & Nun trades in deranged vocals, tortured guitars and punk synths, a raw and visceral sound that found a home on Ron Morelli's L.I.E.S. The label released his album Dancing In Evil in 2021, a gothic collection of EDM, industrial and electro from the dark side. Records such as Rotten Sun, Vampire Celebration and Nosferatu followed on his own Bandcamp. His Dekmantel Podcast in 2021 built from wrecked textures and caustic drones into distorted warehouse techno.
