Casper Tielrooij

Casper Tielrooij started going out at sixteen and had turntables a year later. After moving to Amsterdam in his early twenties he began throwing parties with friends because the American house they were falling for was not being played in the city. Those parties grew into Dekmantel, which he co-founded in 2007, running nights at Club NL, the Bunker, Flexbar, Doornroosje and Paradiso before the label and the festival followed. His taste has travelled from pounding US techno towards disco and the deep house of Chicago and Detroit, and that arc still shapes his sets. He plays regularly at Dekmantel events, solo and as one half of Dekmantel Soundsystem with Interstellar Funk.
