Cassius Select

Cassius Select is the alias of Lavurn Lee, a producer and DJ with a gift for twisting grooves that draw on the weight of bass music and the skip of garage. His first record, One, came out on Hunter Gatherer in 2013, followed by the Crook EP on Unknown To The Unknown, two releases on Matthew Herbert's Accidental Jnr, the Fake Death EP on Hypercolour, Heavyweight on Banoffee Pies and Shake Like Me on Bruk. He is one half of SUMAC Sound System and has made mixes for XLR8R and Cxemcast. Based in Hong Kong at the time of his 2021 Dekmantel Podcast, he built it from skeletal rhythms through murky bass and dub into blissed-out R&B.
