Channel One

Channel One is one of the UK's most beloved and respected reggae sound systems, comprised of DJ Mikey Dread, MC Macky Banton and MC Ras Sherby. Formed in the late seventies, they first played London's Notting Hill Carnival in 1983 and have not skipped a year since. Their sessions are a big bath of heavyweight sounds and a deep dip into dub, bass-led and rooted in sound system tradition. Channel One played Dekmantel Festival in the forest in 2022, and later returned for a morning session as part of the Dekmantel at Dawn programme.
