Daniel Wang

Daniel Wang was born in Oakland, California, spent eight years of his childhood in Taipei and found his calling at early nineties New York parties with DJs such as Tee Scott, François Kevorkian and Danny Krivit. He lived in downtown Manhattan from 1994 to 2003, working five years in a synthesiser shop, and released around ten twelve-inches on his own Balihu label before three EPs for Morgan Geist's Environ. He moved to Berlin in 2003, playing from Horse Meat Disco in London to clubs in Tokyo and São Paulo. His sets blend disco, soul and old and new house with open joy. He compiled mix CDs of the West End and Salsoul catalogues in Japan, remixed Wolfgang Tillmans and Cerrone, and played Lentekabinet Festival in 2019.
