Darwin

Canadian-born and Berlin-based, Darwin works across many roles in dance music. She runs the REEF parties at Berghain and the SPE:C label, which has given early releases to a wide circle of emerging producers. She also founded Clean Scene, a climate action collective that studies how dance music can become more sustainable and has published a report on the carbon footprint of the industry. Her sound is rooted in UK styles, from bass and dubstep to garage and breakbeat, and her 100-minute Dekmantel Podcast opened with field recordings and thoughts on the environment before moving into heavy Afro drum patterns and deep bass pressure. She played The Nest at Dekmantel Festival 2022.
