Dis Fig

Dis Fig is Felicia Chen, born in New Jersey and based in Berlin. She came out of New York's DIY noise scene and first drew attention as a DJ, with mixes for Classical Trax, Discwoman and Boiler Room and bootleg mashups that ran grime, bass music and trap into industrial, noise and drone. Her own productions moved further from the dancefloor: the 2019 debut album Purge, on PTP, distilled noise, industrial and melodic songcraft into a language that moves between tenderness and brutality. She made the album In Blue with The Bug in 2020 and Orchards of a Futile Heaven with The Body in 2024, and her second solo album, What To Make Of These Mortal Hands, came out on Thrill Jockey. She works as producer, vocalist and performer.
