DJ Marcelle

DJ Marcelle, born Marcelle van Hoof, is an Amsterdam DJ, producer and radio broadcaster known for her three-turntable setup. With it she builds improbable collisions between raw techno, dub, post-punk, singeli, dancehall, field recordings, animal sounds and the electronic avant-garde. Her weekly radio show is called Another Nice Mess. On Klangbad, the label of Faust founding member Hans Joachim Irmler, she released the Meets Her Soulmates At Faust Studio Deejay Laboratory series of mixes, and she is a resident at Nyege Nyege Festival in Uganda. Her own music has appeared on Jahmoni Music, including the album One Place For The First Time, and on Cortizona. Collaborations include Fodderstompf with Holger Mertin and Quiquoiou with Guido Möbius.
