DJ Overdose

DJ Overdose is Jeroen Warmenhoven, born in The Hague in 1971. He got into hip hop and electro records at thirteen, naming Grandmaster Flash's The Message and Boogie Down Bronx by Freeze Force as formative, and took his name from friends who said hearing twenty tracks in two minutes felt like an overdose of music. His hip hop and cinema inspired machine funk has appeared on labels such as Murder Capital and Miami's Monotone, and with friends he has recorded as Novamen, Los Hombres Nova, Get It Boyz, Dreamdisco and The Hasbeens. As Model Man he released the album Shouldn't I Be Dead by Now? on WT Records in 2010, built on an E-mu SP-12 and a Korg Poly-800. He is based in Rotterdam and runs RotterHague Records.
