DJ Stingray
DJ Stingray 313 is a Detroit DJ and producer whose cyborg-like electro sets, played in his emblematic balaclava, have toured for decades. His first productions appeared in 1987 in the group Nasa with Lou Robinson of Scan 7, followed by solo work as Urban Tribe on Carl Craig's Planet E and The Collapse Of Modern Culture on Mo'Wax with Craig, Anthony Shakir and Moodymann. Through James Stinson and Gerald Donald of Drexciya he became the duo's official touring DJ, and he has carried that legacy since Stinson's death in 2002. Releases followed on Warp, Rephlex, Tresor, Mahogani Music and Unknown To The Unknown, and his Micron Audio label issues his own work alongside emerging artists. He played back to back with Helena Hauff at Dekmantel Festival in 2016.
