Djrum

Djrum is the alias of Felix Manuel, a British DJ and producer who learned piano at seven, trained as a jazz pianist and began mixing jazz and trip-hop from a record collection inherited from his mother. He came up DJing bass music, ragga and jungle at London squat parties with the Yardcore crew and hosted a monthly show on Sub.FM. The Mountains EP on Second Drop opened his catalogue in 2011, followed by the album Seven Lies, and a move to R&S produced Portrait With Firewood in 2018. His music draws on downtempo, garage, techno, drum and bass and dubstep, threaded with spoken word, piano and chamber instruments, and his DJ sets are known for unpredictable, eclectic turns. He also recorded a Dekmantel Podcast.
