Dr. Rubinstein

Marina Rubinstein was born in Russia, spent her formative years in Israel and studied business in Jerusalem before moving from Tel Aviv to Berlin in 2012. A car accident that left her bedridden for a month drew her into crate-digging, and as a committed raver she worked her way up the Berlin circuit from ://about blank to Berghain. She built a career as a DJ without a label, residency, party or productions, on a love of acid, breakbeat and rave and an instinct for how hard to push a dancefloor. She later founded the Uppers and Downers label, whose first release, Rubi's Acid Spa, was her solo debut as a producer, three bouncing, humorous acid tracks.
