dreamcastmoe is Davon Bryant from Washington DC, who found rhythm on the drums in church, played in school bands and learned piano by ear before a Maschine controller became his way into production. His album Liquid Deep came out on the DC label PPU in 2017, followed by the Lamont EP in 2019, After All This on In Real Life in 2021 and Sound Is Like Water on Ghostly International's Spectral Sound in 2022. His music sets a honeyed falsetto over reverb-laden keys and intricate beats, blending house, disco, R&B and breaks, and on stage he works the microphone in the manner of late eighties and early nineties club culture, Ron Hardy included. Donny Hathaway's refusal of category is a guiding example.
