Esa Williams is a South African DJ and producer based in London, and one half of Auntie Flo. With Auntie Flo he built the Highlife World Series on Huntleys + Palmers, recording with musicians in Kenya, Uganda and Cuba and sending the proceeds back to each scene; he led the Uganda edition himself at the Doadoa performing arts market. He also leads the live band of Ghanaian dance-rap artist Ata Kak. His single Blast, featuring Pendo Hukwe Zawose, came out on Dekmantel. He has held a Saturday residency at Phonox in Brixton, and his Dekmantel history includes a Boiler Room set at the festival, heavy on nineties kwaito and slow funk, and a Selectors appearance.
