Finn Johannsen

Finn Johannsen was born in Kiel in the late sixties and has collected records since childhood, from disco, soul and post-punk to synth pop. He spent his formative years dancing in Hamburg clubs and started DJing in the eighties on the rare soul circuit, before house and techno took hold. Based in Berlin, he co-runs the label Macro Recordings with Stefan Goldmann, worked at the Hard Wax record shop and has programmed the clubs Paloma and Monarch. He is also a prolific writer for print and online music publications, and his mixes and radio shows reflect the same wide, historically informed ear. He played Dekmantel Selectors in 2019.
