Forest Drive West

Forest Drive West is Joe Baker, an East London producer and DJ who arrived with almost no public profile and a catalogue that fused techno, dub and jungle. He grew up going to jungle and drum and bass nights in Brighton and spent nearly two decades making tracks before releasing any, beginning with the System EP on Livity Sound's sister label Dnuos Ytivil in 2016. Records on Livity Sound, Hidden Hawaii, Rupture London, Neighbourhood and Appian Sounds followed, often built on Euclidean rhythms and odd time signatures. His debut album Apparitions on Livity Sound deepened his ghostly, reverb-heavy sound, and he later shared the Fluids In Motion EP with Azu Tiwaline. He played Dekmantel Festival in 2023.
