Fortuna Records

Fortuna Records is a Tel Aviv label and DJ crew run by Maor Anava, Zach Bar, Yoav Magriso and Ariel Tagar. For more than a decade the quartet has dug into obscure and forgotten Middle Eastern music, with carefully curated reissues that favour the psychedelic end of the spectrum and give Israeli records the exposure they never had first time round. Their NTS show, A Strange Attractor, ranges from Arabic pop to acid and from free jazz to traditional Arabic music. As DJs they work the same seam: hypnotic Arabic music, transcendental instrumentals, loose-limbed Middle Eastern rhythms, leftfield dub and ritualistic vocals, all of which run through their mix for the Dekmantel Podcast.
