Frits Wentink

Frits Wentink has been one of the steadiest producers in the Netherlands since his first record in 2012, releasing left-of-centre house on Wolf Music, Heist, Royal Oak and Dekmantel under a range of aliases. He runs the labels Will & Ink and Bobby Donny, builds his own synthesizers and controllers, and splits his time between Amsterdam and Barcelona. His tracks lean on sampling and odd instrumentation: broken brass, distorted organs, hazy jazz chords and MPC drums that hit hard while sounding worn. For Dekmantel he made Safe Passage with the American photographer Erik Madigan Heck, a three-movement score of classical, choral and electronic music with poetry read by Tilda Swinton.
