Grand River
Grand River is the Berlin-based Dutch-Italian composer and musician Aimée Portioli, who works between electronic music and sound art. Drawing on kosmische music, film scores, ambient and avant-garde classical, she builds electroacoustic pieces from analogue and digital synthesis, subtle acoustic instruments and her own guitar. Her records have appeared on Spazio Disponibile, Editions Mego, Ghostly International, Tresor, Umor Rex and Caterina Barbieri's light-years, including All Above, a tribute to Editions Mego founder Peter Rehberg, and In uno spazio immenso with Abul Mogard. Tuning the Wind grew from a live piece into multichannel installations, and she has performed at Atonal, CTM, MUTEK and the Barbican. She recorded a Dekmantel Podcast.
