Graze

Graze pairs Adam Marshall, the tech-house minimalist who runs New Kanada, with Christian Andersen, the dubstep and garage producer known as XI. Both are from Toronto but only became friends after moving to Berlin, where they built the project by trading ideas between their own studios. The result amplifies the garage and groove roots of dubstep and rubs tech-house tropes with rugged swing. Their debut album was nominated for Electronic Album of the Year at the JUNO Awards, and the triple-vinyl Soft Gamma Repeater followed on New Kanada. Dekmantel released the Xup EP, which sets aggressive percussive workouts against ethereal analogue synth pieces, and they have played MUTEK, Fusion Festival and Boiler Room.
