Gui Scott

Gui Scott is a DJ from São Paulo and a founder and resident of Gop Tun, a collective turned party and label in 2012 that helped build the city's independent electronic scene. With Caio T. and TYV among its members, Gop Tun has run parties and projects across Brazil and released records such as TYV's Da Terra. Scott's sets sit on disco and house with a US and UK lineage, coloured by the Brazilian music of the seventies and eighties he grew up on, from Jorge Ben and Caetano Veloso to Tim Maia, and by Arthur Russell, Talking Heads and Larry Levan. That coherence holds from a São Paulo warehouse to a boat party off Bahia or the street carnival of Rio de Janeiro.
