Heap

Heap is Florian Stöffelbauer, a DJ, producer and label owner based in Vienna. He started collecting records after moving to the city, when a drum practice room was out of reach, and in 2015 he founded the Neubau label with Bocksrucker and Simon Heidemann, an imprint for bold experimental electronics that has released Alexander Arpeggio, Mr TC and Gil.Barte. His own productions have appeared on Berceuse Heroique, Mechatronica White and ESP Institute, split between the Heap name and his real name, and include a rhythmic acid rework of Gayna Rose Madder for Betonska. He runs Discus Throwers, a concept shop for krautrock, synth pop, techno and house. His sets as Heap lean on dubwise oddities and what he calls austro weirdo funk.
