Hellie

Hellie is Chinese-American, grew up mostly in the east of the Netherlands and moved to Amsterdam in the mid-2000s, where she has worked front and back office in the city's nightlife for more than a decade. She plays vinyl by preference, with a soft spot for records from 1977 to 1982, and mixes those with digital music from today. She started her own party, Berry's Paradise, and has pushed for more women on line-ups and in the booth. She hosts the show Voortouw on Echobox and co-hosts Women with Naima Bouchtaoui on Radio Alhara, a programme built on interviews with women from non-Western countries. She played Dekmantel Selectors in 2023.
