James Bangura

James Bangura is a Washington DC producer and DJ, a former military man and marching band member who picked up musical influences at every stop of a life spent moving around the world. He has released independently since 2012, and his debut EP R.Y.S.S. arrived alongside tracks for Haus Of Altr and a 12-inch on Mister Saturday Night. Further records followed on 3024, World Building and Incienso, with tracks such as Cleanse setting deep house against delicate amen breaks. He co-founded the collective Black Rave Culture and speaks as much about community as music, and his mixes balance playful selection with sustained tension. He recorded a Dekmantel Podcast.
