Jameszoo

Jameszoo is the alias of Mitchel van Dinther, a producer from 's-Hertogenbosch who started out as a DJ in his home town. A stint at the Red Bull Music Academy in New York in 2013 connected him with like-minded musicians, and after early EPs on labels including Kindred Spirits he signed to Brainfeeder. His debut album Fool followed in 2016, with the Brazilian composer Arthur Verocai, one of his key influences, involved in its production. He describes his music as naive computer jazz, balancing electronic and acoustic elements in a way he traces back to Herbie Hancock's Sextant. Later work widened the scale: Melkweg with the Metropole Orchestra, the album Blind in 2022 and Music for 17 Musicians with Asko|Schönberg in 2025. He played Dekmantel Festival in 2017.
