Joey Anderson

Joey Anderson grew up inside New York's hip-hop and house scenes and began producing alongside DJ Qu. From New Jersey he runs the Inimeg label and has released on Latency, Deconstruct Music and Syncrophone, but his home is Dekmantel: the debut album After Forever, then the 1974 EP and the album Invisible Switch. His music works by omission. Kicks are hammered in 4/4, snares and claps are often absent, and what fills the space is haunted piano, shadowy synth work and drones, techno and house that feel narcotic and elegant at once. He recorded Dekmantel Podcast 012 and has played the festival in Amsterdam and its São Paulo edition.
