Jon K

Jon K spent more than two decades in Manchester, where he worked at Fat City Records, put his graphic design to work on the scene and held residencies at Eyes Down and Hoya:Hoya, two parties that shaped the city's nightlife. He moved to London in 2020 but kept his Manchester ties through regular residencies. His NTS show Peking Spring, named after a Mission of Burma track and a period of political expression in China, has been a fixture since the mid 2010s. During the pandemic he co-founded the label MAL with Elle Andrews, whose Pressure compilations gather grime, dancehall, breakbeat, hardcore and gqom. His sets refuse a single genre and hold together on mood and attitude, and he has played back-to-back with Joy Orbison, Elena Colombi and Illum Sphere.
