Katerina

Katerina is a Bulgarian-born artist based in Helsinki, where she spent more than a decade in promotion and helped build clubs such as Kaiku and Flow Festival before her own sets drew wider notice. Her productions pull from natural textures and ambient as much as G-funk and classic techno. Her debut EP Just When You Thought It Was Over came out on Cómeme in 2018, followed by records on Tigersushi, Running Back, Hivern Discs, Rhythm Section International, Rekids and ESP Institute. She runs the labels Émotsiya, named after her long-running Cómeme Radio show, and Kotarak. Her DJ sets and mixes, including Dekmantel Podcast 248, are known for long, patient blends and well-placed ambient turns within a coherent thread.
