King Shiloh
King Shiloh Sound System was founded in Amsterdam in 1991, inspired by Jah Rastafari, and operates in the old-school tradition of roots reggae and dub: a self-built, forty kilowatt, six-way stereo rig at the heart of everything it does. Bredda Neil operates the sound and selects the music, Ras Lion is the original MC and Majestic B the third original member, with Big Bless as second MC and Lidj Shiloh as utility man. Early gigs at Paradiso and Melkweg led to sessions at OCCII and the Dub Club Y2K residency at Paradiso from 1999 to 2003, which brought Jah Shaka, Aba Shanti-I and Jah Tubbys to the Netherlands for the first time. Its label King Shiloh Majestic Music launched in 1997 with a twelve-inch by Ras Ibi.
