Ksoul

Ksoul is one half of the Italian duo Ksoul & Muteoscillator, whose house music comes deliberately rough and frayed: heavy rubber kick drums, muted synths, jazzy touches and a humid, underwater feel, with nothing left crisp or clean. The pair first appeared on Aroy Dee's MOS label with the 12 Inches Of Sinergy EP, then moved to Dekmantel for Soul Hell, the label's thirteenth release, three knackered house grooves in Soul Hell, Stinger and Detrance. The record still stands as one of the murkier corners of the early Dekmantel catalogue, a reminder that the label's deep house roots always had grit in them.
