L_cio

L_cio is Laercio Schwantes, a São Paulo musician who works as a live electronic performer rather than a DJ, with the transverse flute at the centre of his sets. Raised in a deeply religious Adventist family where instruments came out whenever life allowed, he began studying the flute at seven and later taught capoeira before turning to synthesisers in the mid-2000s party scene. He held a live residency at The Edge in São Paulo without ever playing a record. His flute on Portable's 2014 track Surrender brought him to a wider audience, and he has since contributed to records by Portable and Patrice Bäumel. He has performed at Egg London, Boiler Room São Paulo, on the Live At Robert Johnson Lifesaver tour and at Dekmantel São Paulo in 2017.
