Lamellen

Lamellen is the Dutch duo of Rimer London and Lyckle. Rimer Veeman brings a history in the disco outfit Le Le and the Comtron project with Bas Bron, better known as Fatima Yamaha, while Lyckle contributes the songwriting. Their five-track EP Monty Roberts for Dekmantel keeps the tempo under 100 bpm and works a Balearic seam: muted eighties Italo funk, breezy drum machines, Korg basslines that recall old television themes, retro keys and ambient wash. Horse Massage, the opener, was picked out in Dekmantel Radio's end-of-year selection, and the record earned the duo a place on the label's Best of 2019 compilation.
