Layla Rutherford

Layla Rutherford is a DJ, vocalist and producer whose first EP, a delicate deep house record co-produced by Floating Points, came out in 2014. A year later she provided vocals for his album Elaenia. She has since been a regular on Worldwide FM and NTS, where her selections move through downtempo, gospel, house and much in between. She played the beach at Dekmantel Selectors in 2021 and later recorded an all-vinyl Dekmantel Podcast on two decks and an E&S mixer: a homely selection of soulful songs and gospel records mixed with lo-fi rollers from Omar S, swinging US garage and funk from around the world. Her sets follow no formula and no predictable arc, favouring feeling over structure.
