Lee Collins

Lee Collins was a Chicago DJ and producer who learned from Andre Hatchett, Frankie Knuckles, Farley Keith, Robert Owens and Ron Hardy. In 1983 he started Disco Madness, a college radio show on WHPK that became a rival to WBMX's Hot Mix Five, and in 1986 Muzic Box owner Robert Williams gave him Friday nights at the club for a run of Disco Madness parties. In 1991 he and his long-time friend Anthony Nicholson made their first twelve-inch as Rhythm Section, Thrill Me. He later formed the production company and label Soul In The Hole with Sadar Bahar and Russell Dixon. He played back to back with Sadar Bahar at Dekmantel Selectors 2018 and hosted Dekmantel Radio with Mafalda. Collins died in August 2025.
