Lulu

Lulu is Luca Bruls, a DJ at the heart of Amsterdam's underground and a resident at Garage Noord, the converted car repair shop on the Gedempt Hamerkanaal. Her sound is untamed, jumping between moody vocals, dub heavy rhythms and dark electronic bass, with a sense of melodic yearning that she describes as sweet, salt and spicy energy. She is part of the collective Natiforme with Derozan, Giaderza and Nena, and her radio series spher.o.visceral, aired on LYL Radio and Cashmere Radio, works through the four elements in music and mixing. Alongside DJing she studies sound from a social scientific perspective at a university. She has played Rewire and represented Garage Noord's radio programme at Dekmantel Connects.
