LYDO

You never know what you will get from a LYDO set. The New York City-based interdisciplinary artist has plenty of tricks up their sleeve and a real love of mixing genres in ways you would not think possible. They have done so across Europe and North America and have a devoted following at home, where they run X-TRA.SERVICES. It makes regular seasonal appearances at BASEMENT, where LYDO is also a resident, and is a safe place to party for queer, trans and non-binary people of colour. Their selections blow open the usual boundaries of techno: barrages of noise and malfunctioning machines lit up by gorgeous melodies, heavy rhythms offset by wispy synth leads, energy built to real intensity then boiled down to heads-down grooves, retro yet future, animalistic yet human.
