Maarten Mittendorff

Maarten Mittendorff grew up in Hengelo in the east of the Netherlands and started DJing at fifteen, moving from pop and electronic music into techno in the late nineties. A move to Amsterdam sharpened his taste for Detroit techno, with local labels Delsin and Rush Hour as reference points. He began producing in 2008 and co-runs Indigo Aera with Jasper Wolff, a label known since 2010 for limited vinyl pressings of Detroit machine soul with a darker Berlin edge, alongside the sister imprint ÆX. He also releases on the Toronto label Restructured, remixed Cosime for Rush Hour, and held a residency at De School in Amsterdam, where his long sets connect deep, soulful techno with harder machine music.
