Marcio Vermelho

Marcio Vermelho was born in Araraquara in the interior of Sao Paulo state and grew up between his mother's MPB and disco records and his father's cassette collection. Trained as a chemist, he worked for nearly a decade as a newspaper photographer while building a DJ career that began around 2000. In Sao Paulo he co-founded the ODD party with Davis and Zopelar, a night built on inclusion that also runs the ODDcast series and has brought Legowelt, Discodromo and Axel Boman to Brazil. He plays electric house with strong, energising beats, and he also records as Sphynx with Pedro Zopelar, mining eighties timbres, new beat and acid house, and as Vermelho Wonder with vocalist Ivana Wonder. He played Dekmantel Festival Sao Paulo.
