Mark Grusane

Mark Grusane is a Chicago DJ, collector and record shop owner with three decades behind the decks. He learned to blend from his older brother in the early eighties and played the high school show The Network Connection on WKKC-FM in the late eighties and early nineties. He co-owns Mr Peabody Records in Chicago, and his digging fed the Windy City compilations on BBE, the Space Mountain release on Sounds Familiar, Stand Down on his own Mark Grusane Music and the MGM Edits volumes on Toronto's Spacedust. Larry Heard, Patrick Adams and Roy Ayers are his touchstones, and a set moves through soul, funk, Latin, house, disco, rock, Caribbean, new wave, minimal wave, cosmic, techno and afro-jazz while holding one mixing style.
