Marsman

Rotterdam DJ Marsman founded and runs Pinkman, a label that has passed a hundred releases, along with its offshoots Mindri, Broken Dreams and Charlois. The Pinkman sound sits in a close-knit scene of rough, DIY dance music, and his sets follow the same line: uplifting synths and heavy drum patterns for dark basements and industrial warehouses, with the gloss of Italo, disco and wave never far away, and moments of euphoria cut into long stretches of tension. He is a founding member of the Rotterdam radio station Operator and ran the Pinkman record store in the Schieblock building. He has played Dekmantel, Garage Noord, Pip, Drift Festival and Intergalactic FM, and abroad Panorama Bar, Tresor, Khidi and FOLD.
