Mendel
Mendel was born in Amsterdam and is based there. Hip hop was his first love, with Wu-Tang Clan next to Tracy Chapman in the formative pile, and a job behind the counter at Waxwell Records opened him up to disco, afro and soul, The SOS Band, Young & Company and Evelyn Champagne King among them. He started producing and editing in 2014, with releases on Basic Fingers and Lumberjacks In Hell and an edit of Jeanette N'Diaye that drew remixes on Kalita Records. He digs alongside Marcel Vogel, Rahaan and Esa, and credits Antal with pointing him to the Twylyte 81 album. His sets tell a story of love and heartbreak in smooth, uplifting soul, disco, boogie and house.
