MFO

MFO is Marcel Weber, a Berlin visual artist and scenographer who works with imagery, light and space. He started out VJing in electronic music clubs in the early 2000s and has been directing audiovisual performances, stage designs, video works and installations ever since. His method pairs a 1970s effects workshop with the digital realm: analogue projectors, film, lenses, mirrors, paint and chemicals sit alongside compositing and generative software, UV light, strobes and holographic projection. He is director of lights and visuals for Berlin Atonal, a long-time collaborator of Unsound, and has built shows with Caterina Barbieri, Roly Porter and Lyra Pramuk. His work has been shown at CTM, Transmediale, MUTEK, the Barbican, Centre Pompidou and CERN.
